The sample set of countries is spread across continents with the team finally settling down to 2-3 countries which would maximize returns from offshoring the work • Collaborated closely with the sales force and analyzed complex data aligned with Microsoft services to win a $ 10 mn project. The effort help the subsidiary meet planned target and help achieve positive bottom line Previous Organization: McKinsey & Company, Gurgaon Designation: Research Analyst Tenure: May 2005 to March 2008 Industry Analysis • In depth understanding of Investment banking industry as a consequence of the credit crisis including the value chain, Industry trends, competitive analysis, change in risk management perception, key performance Indicators and key challenges. The study is being used by the Information Technology and Architecture team in Redmond to address challenges of the respective banks by technology improvements which would make banks much more efficient with the slew of Microsoft Products to be launched in the coming year. • Diagnosed the existing opportunities and challenges in the Greece Banking market (worked on an engagement In Greece with the team for 2 months). Studied the entire sector and conducted extensive competitive analysis for a $ 12 bn Bank. The inputs helped the bank to go for an inorganic growth outside Greece as against an organic growth in the country with the market already saturated. The bank has been able to tackle the crisis pretty well with its assets growing @ 15% annually in the last 2 years due to diversity • Deep analysis of the Indian stock market bringing out the relationship between trading volume and price movements of the major stocks in India . o Key finding included Indian stocks displaying positive correlation between price movements and trading volumes, however the relation is not necessarily asymmetric o Daily VAR for investments in index at 95% confidence interval stands at 2% of the portfolio value which underscores the tremendous volatility (8% per month and the average return of 1% per month with negative skewness, data from 1998 to 2008 ) • Researched and prepared a document on fundamental levers driving M&A which later became a referring document for M&A cases in McKinsey. The study underscores the approach toward post-merger management; both top down and bottom up as well as the means to achieve a greater synergy once the merger takes place. The study also included the trends in M&A with respect to success rates and the most important deciding factor stood out to be the timing of the deal.
