Hi Raza,

I'm not sure if you're aware, however, the Employer Nomination Scheme Occupation List has recently changed, and you can view all the occupations that qualify for sponsorship here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/ensol.pdf .

I suggest that you study this list and see which occupation would be the closest fit to your dream job, and then visit the Assessing Authority's website for that profession so you can determine what you need to qualify for sponsorship under that profession.

It may be that you qualify for an occupation here already, in which case, you should apply for your assessment through the Australian Assessing Authority and start applying for jobs in your profession.

If you have not used the free Australian CV Assessment Tool, we suggest you do so, as this will help you to decide whether you need the assistance of one of our consultants to make your CV more competitive and effective for Australia.

Cheers,

Nadine

I would like to work in Melbourne

I have 4 years epxerience in embroidery business. I have single head embroidery machine and I also can do embroidery design.

I tried to approach several embroidery companies over melbourne some replied me but none agreed to sponsor my visa.

They like my job as they saw in my portfolio but none able to sponsor me yet. They said wait till 2nd half of year. So hopefully this right time to start search job again.

Hope someone can help get me employer.

Thank you .

Hi Ummi,

Have you applied to all of the embroidery companies in Melbourne?  Are you open to other areas in Australia?

To best place yourself for sponsorship in Australia, I recommend that you contact the Australian Assessing Authority for your chosen occupation for sponsorship.  You can find out who it is here - http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/ensol.pdf.

You will need to have our assessment as part of your migration process for sponsored employment, and a lot of Australian employers prefer to see that you have it already before they pursue you for sponsorship.

I also recommend contacting all the employers you have spoken with previously to see whether their circumstances have changed.

If you would like us to review your CV to ensure you're selling your skills effectively for sponsorship in Australia, send your CV through to info@nabthatjob.com.

We can also distribute your CV Australia-wide to suitable companies if you like.  When you send your CV through, be sure to ask about these services if you're interested.

Kind regards,

Nadine

Hi Nadine

My husband is a Production Manager (Manufacturing) and has about 8 years experience in his job.  He is also busy with an Operations Management Diploma at the moment.  We want to start looking for jobs in Australia to go over on a 457 visa.  Obviously he will need to have his skills assessed as part of the process so I would like to have it done before we start if possible.  Could you give me any idea of who assesses Production Managers (I think it is VETASSESS) and where in Jhb, South Africa he could get this assessment done.

Hi Donna,

The new list for eligible sponsored positions is now here: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/_pdf/ensol.pdf

VETASSESS is indeed the assessing authority for the position of Production Manager (Manufacturing).  The website says that he will need a Bachelor's Degree or higher to qualify for this occupation.  Does your husband have a degree?

You can click here for more information: http://www.vetassess.com.au/migrate_to_australia/qa2_nominating_occupation.cfm#BGroup

Unfortunately there is not an office in South Africa or anywhere else in the world.  The assessment will need to be done through VETASSESS in Australia, and details on how to apply are found on the website. It is definitely wise to get the skills assessment done asap so you are sure your husband qualifies.

I am now in South Africa, and will be throughout August, if you have any more questions or require further assistance.

Kind regards,

Nadine

Hello,

I am thinking about settling in australia with my family. I work as an helicopter pilot in the French army since 1994. My question is: The fact of being military can have a negative impact on my CV or not ?
